As part of our celebration on October 21st, a few of the artists sent video messages about their contribution to the album. "The Miller" of the Rowan Amber Mill sent us this video explaining his obsession with Black Meadow. Be warned, it is very unnerving.

Artist of the Week - Emily Jones and Rowan Amber Mill - The Marsh Thing
It was Book of the Lost that first introduced me to Emily Jones' exciting and unique lyrical stylings.
Like Tales from the Black Meadow this project taps into a sense of intangible nostalgia, a half remembered dream, a feeling of familiarity at the new, a fuzzy memory of a flickering screen in a 70's drawing room...
The Marsh Thing is one such lost film shown on Book of the Lost, that great series from back in the day.
You remember it don't you?

Artist of the Week - Angeline Morrison - Review for "Are you Ready Cat?"
Check out this fantastic review on Funkalicious...
"A seductively spellbinding debut, “Are You Ready Cat?” is a hip, mellow set of dreamy music that oozes style, class and cool." - Funkalicious
Artist of the Week - Rowan Amber Mill - Some Words from the Miller
A couple of people had independently pointed me in the direction of Chris Lambert's book 'Tales From the Black Meadow'. So, when Chris approached me about the project, I absolutely devoured the book, finding that it was so much the kind of thing I loved, and I was really made up to be asked to submit a song inspired by the book for this project.
I was also fortunate enough to get Angeline Morrison to agree to lend her wonderful vocals to the song, so everything about being involved in the project was an absolute joy.

Artist of the Week - Rowan Amber Mill and Angeline Morrison - Lyrical Tease
A few choice lyrics from Rowan Amber Mill's contribution. (Title to be revealed at the end of the week)
The cold burns deep inside, reaching from another time.
Splinters slither in. There is bark instead of skin.
Married to the wood. This yoke is well and good,
to cling to from my arms, this meadow and it's farms.
And you can feel the hoards tether you,
and their twisted claws are now you
There's no way to escape the need for you to stay, as the meadow hunts you down.
A bramble from the bough, plants you 'tween the ground.
Clawing at the bone, for all that has been done
A few choice lyrics from Rowan Amber Mill's contribution. (Title to be revealed at the end of the week)

Artist of the Week - Rowan Amber Mill - Book of the Lost
Based on the lost TV series of the same name this beautifully presented package enfolds the listener in a nostalgic embrace which like Black Meadow and the recently discovered "Goatman" soundtrack by The Unseen tugs at half forgotten memories and dreams of just-tangible folklore.
We live in an age of unreliable narratives in which new stories mingle with old and become something contemporary and yet utterly rooted in the past.
The Book of the Lost is lovingly crafted and you should buy it, lose yourself in their world.
